Another fun weekend up in Sheffield for the annual National Conference for Film Societies and Community Cinemas, organised and run by Cinema for All., the brilliant organisation that has been supporting the Do It Yourself Cinema movement for over 70 years.
There are now over 1,200 Community Cinemas around the country and more spring up all the time. The first thing anyone does when they want to set up a Community Cinema would be to google how to go about it, and that would take them straight to Cinema for All, where they will get the best, and friendliest, advice imaginable.
The annual awards is their way of celebrating the efforts everyone around the country involved in the groups that run these cinemas.
We were once again delighted to be shortlisted for awards for our Programming and our Marketing and Publicity, Up against some pretty awesome competition, we were delighted to receive Commendations in both those categories.
This hints that we are one of the most well regarded Community Cinemas out there and gives us encouragement to try and be even better!

Tickets are available from the Albourne Estate website and there will be a complementary glass of Albourne Estate wine with every ticket. and they will be selling wine buy the glass on the night. There will also be food and other refreshments on sale both before and after the film.
What could be better than spending an early summer evening watching this brilliant wine soaked film while sipping a glass of delicious wine, at trhe vineyard it was made?
Following problems with our web hosting service, we have transferred to a new provider.
This has necessitated a rebuild of the website, but having considered our options, we decided to stay largely with the design principles we had used on the existing website, which were basically to eschew bells and whistles and endeavour to keep it clear, informative and, above all easy to navigate.
Having said that, we have subtly changed the look of the site and we hope you find the aesthetic changes only enhance your experience in using it.
